Wind power from Weinviertel
Excellent wind conditions
In the Weinviertel region, we use the potential of wind and solar energy as inexhaustible energy source free of costs to produce electricity. A series of very good wind locations, which can partly be compared to the wind conditions near the North Sea Coast with much wind, is situated in the East of Austria, in particular in our region.
Sustainable energy production, regional value added
Our company is also based in Weinviertel, and we feel beholden to this region. Sustainable energy supply, combined with regional value added, for the benefit of people, the environment and the region are assuring facts for a trendsetting development of a company.
Wind power, like hydropower that is extensively developed in Austria, is able to contribute decisively to meeting the ever increasing demand of energy in an environmental friendly way. Strong wind prevails in winter months, when rivers like the Danube carry little water and thus provide little power to hydropower plants. That's also a reason why Windkraft Simonsfeld will push the expansion of wind power in the future. Besides that, solar power projects, like those on large roofs, are being projected in Austria. The realization of these projects depends on the conditions set in the new Eco-Electricity Act.
