Initiative PROWind: signature for extension of wind power
In the last few weeks, the initiative PROWind has become an active voice in favor of a further extension of wind energy in Austria. In particular commercial woodlands are considered as apt locations since there housing development areas and protected areas are spared.
Yet, such projects, like in the Kobernaußerwald woods or on the Kolomansberg hill, have been fought against with partially irrational arguments and decisions to approve planned projects have been delayed. PROWind wants to raise people’s awareness with factual information.
PROWind has elaborated a petition in favor of the use of wind energy in commercial woodlands. With as many signatures as possible, it is meant to be demonstrated that there is a vast majority in favor of an installation of such wind energy plants in these areas.
No less than energy visionary and recipient of the Alternative Nobel Prize Professor Dr Hermann Scheer has already signed the petition.
